Friends, I am absolutely DYING for this Arthouse faux brick wallpaper that I bought online from the Home Depot!! Now, I know what you’re thinking…Wallpaper is a huge commitment, (largely from the effort it takes to remove it) but for around $60 you can totally update the look and feel of a room. I think you’ll love it so much you will forget allllll about the hassle of removing it.
I have an in-home photography studio that was begging for a wall treatment of some kind. I needed a cheap and non taste-specific way to create some texture in my photos. YES, I love the woven boho wall hanging, but lets face it…not everyone wants to look at that forever in their photos!!! Enter faux brick! Brick is a classic that never goes out of style in the right places. I can dress up this wall for men, women, AND children, just by adding the right plant or flower arrangement in the background. I’m loving it and I think you will too!
The supplies you need for this project are the following. Hopefully you already have some of these things, but if not, here’s the links to the ones I use and love:

Start by preparing your wall with patching if needed. Once the wall is ready, you need to draw or project a straight line from the floor to ceiling along the right edge of the paper. You will follow this line all the way from ceiling to floor as you apply the paper along the right edge. This will keep your paper as straight as possible and you only need to do this for the first row.
Next you will cut strips of paper the length you need from floor to ceiling. Paste both the back of the paper and the wall with paste.
Fold up the pasted paper back to back to protect the paste from drying out while you apply the paste to the wall also.
Then paste your wall using a regular paint roller and tray, just like you would with paint. Use a small brush to “edge” out your ceiling, corners, and baseboards.
Next, you will begin to hang your paper, being careful to stay even with your laser line. Going over a tad is ok, but note that the more you are off, the harder it will be to hang subsequent rows of paper. Also, you don’t want your paper to look crooked by the time you get around the room. My project is just one wall, so I don’t have to worry as much.
After you hang your first row, stop and give yourself a pat on the back. This is the most frustrating row to complete and YOU DID IT, you rockstar, you!! Now it’s time to use your wallpaper brush to make sure you’ve removed all the bubbles. You will also check your edges and make sure they are pasted down. If not, carefully lift them and brush them again with paste. Use a clean damp rag to wipe off any leftover paste so that it doesn’t ruin your print.
Keep going the same way, row after row until your brick wall screams, “Look at my fabulous exposed brick! I might be an old bank! Or Warehouse! Definitely not new construction, NO!”
